Rustica Foods Building a Third Canadian Pizza Plant

Funding from Quebec’s largest labor federation and Export Development Canada enable C$65 million project, new products and markets.
May 5, 2025

Rustica Foods, a privately held company and one of Canada's largest pizza manufacturers, will begin construction of a third production facility, adjacent to one of its current Montreal plants. The C$65 million (U.S. $47 million) is scheduled to open in early 2026.

The company makes both fresh and frozen pizzas, marketing its own brands Rustica and Mia, while also manufacturing for major private-label brands both domestically and internationally.

This expansion is part of an ambitious growth plan, made possible by a partnership with the Fonds de solidarité FTQ – an investment fund run by the province’s largest labor union -- and Export Development Canada.

"This strategic partnership will allow us to fast-track key projects, including the launch of new innovative products and expanding our export markets,” said Vincent Giove, vice president & CSO of Rustica Foods.
