Anheuser-Busch Commits $300 Million Investment Into U.S. Facilities for 2025
Anheuser-Busch has upped the ante on capital spending at its U.S. breweries yet again, announcing a $300 million investment into its U.S. facilities in 2025. This commitment builds upon the nearly $2 billion in capital the company has spent at its facilities over the last five years.
Part of the investment includes expansion of its Technical Excellence Center model beyond St. Louis, Mo., starting with a new regional facility in Columbus, Ohio. The new Columbus Regional Excellence Center is expected to upskill the entire regional workforce over the next three years. More than 1,200 employees have benefitted from the St. Louis facility since 2022, and Anheuser-Busch has announced the centers will both be open to local trade schools to help them grow and develop a talent pipeline.
The company is also partnering with the Manufacturing Institute’s Heroes MAKE America program to adopt a new digital credentialing system to support veterans pursuing manufacturing careers. The system helps translate military experience into the skills needed for a manufacturing career for former servicemen and servicewomen. More than 10% of the company’s workforce is made up of veterans and active-duty military — with nearly 60% of that group in manufacturing roles.
Anheuser-Busch’s investment will continue the work done over the last five years to enhance operations, advance technology and meet consumer demand, the company noted. Since November 2023, Food Processing has reported on seven individual projects at U.S. breweries that averaged some $10 million per project (prior to this large investment), the last being a $4.2 million investment in Williamsburg, Va. (you can click on links to the individual announcements in that news article).
