Setton Pistachio Opens Processing facility in Zamora, California
Setton Pistachio, which claims to be the nation’s second-largest pistachio grower and processor, opened its new pistachio processing facility July 1 in Zamora, Calif.
The new plant, which has been under construction three years, is located on a 40-acre parcel with 430,000 sq. ft. allocated for processing; 270,000 sq. ft. is currently being used. It created 20 full-time and 40 seasonal jobs. The Zamora facility will be operational for the 2025 harvest, which is expected to be a record-breaking crop.
Setton recently acquired Deer Creek Pistachio, another pistachio processing facility in Terra Bella, Calif., which Setton also calls home. Setton has five processing facilities: two in Terra Bella, one each in Pixley and Ducor, and the new facility in Zamora, all in California.
