Without providing specific projects, Mars Inc. today (July 29) announced plans to grow its U.S.-based manufacturing by investing $2 billion into its operations across the country by the end of 2026.

No specific new projects were mentioned, although the company noted two recently completed ones:

  • A $240 million facility for Nature's Bakery in Salt Lake City, Utah, opening tomorrow. The 339,000+ sq.-ft. plant will create more than 230 new jobs in the region.

  • A $450 million Royal Canin dry pet food facility in Lewisburg, Ohio, opened earlier this year. It’s the brand's largest dry pet food factory globally - creating up to 270 new jobs in the area.

Both are part of more than $6 billion spent over the past five years and $2 billion planned by the end of next year.

Mars also noted that 94% of its products sold in the U.S. are produced in the U.S.
