Continuing to fulfill its $300 million commitment to creating and sustaining U.S. manufacturing jobs, Anheuser-Busch announced a significant investment in its St. Louis brewery and a change that will open its training center to more people. It’s the latest in a multi-year string of capital expenditures across its U.S. brewing network.

At the St. Louis brewery, Anheuser-Busch will use $15 million to fund “supply chain infrastructure to transport more of the highest-quality American-grown ingredients to the brewery and more of its iconic beers to customers and consumers,” the company said in the announcement. It did not share details of what that investment would entail beyond that statement, however.

Meanwhile, furthering its efforts to promote, train and sustain the manufacturing workforce of the future, the company will open its St. Louis-based Technical Excellence Center training facility to local trade schools and other groups, in partnership with the National Assn. of Manufacturers’ Manufacturing Institute. It also will expand its adoption of a new digital credentialing system to help veterans translate their military experience into manufacturing careers.

The Technical Excellence Center in St. Louis offers more than 35 courses, and it has already trained more than 2,000 employees across the country since it opened in 2022. Now, local trade school students and educators will have access to the real-world setting the facility creates for hands-on learning.

The training center has been so successful, Anheuser-Busch announced in May that it was opening another center in Columbus, Ohio, which was expected to enhance the skills of the entire regional workforce in the next three years.
