Harrison, Ohio-based Whitewater Processing LLC, owner of Kopp’s Turkey Sales, has begun construction on a new, $28.5 million turkey processing facility just across the state line in Dearborn County, Ind., according to local news reports.

The 85,000-sq.-ft. facility, for which the company held a groundbreaking ceremony this past week, is being built on 86 acres and is expected to add 130 jobs to the area when completed by the end of 2026.

Kopp’s Turkey Sales was founded in 1932 and processes turkeys into cuts sold to further-processors for use as lunchmeat, turkey bacon, sausage and jerky. An on-site deli and butcher shop are also anticipated to be included in the new facility to serve local families, the news outlet reported.
