Tandem Foods Christens First Line at New, Cypress, California, Facility
Better-for-you snacks contract manufacturer Tandem Foods announced it has successfully started up the first manufacturing line at its new Cypress, Calif., processing facility.
The new processing line will be dedicated to the production of wafer bars, and it adds more than 150% capacity in the segment for the company. According to Tandem Foods, it also makes the company the largest wafer manufacturer in the U.S. The line features baking technology that reduces both gas consumption and emissions, capturing and reusing heat more effectively through the baking process.
The capital project is the largest investment in the company’s 40-year history, Tandem Foods noted. Furthermore, the Cypress facility will be capable of future expansion and the addition of processing lines to support long-term growth.
Tandem Foods specializes in producing baked, extruded and cold-slab bars, chocolate moulding, cookies, wafers, fruit bars, and more. The company was formed from the merger of TruFood Manufacturing and Bar Bakers LLC in May 2024, though the “Tandem Foods” name was not announced until January 2025.
