Kerry Group will lease a shuttered Martin Bauer Group facility in Hanover Township, near Bethlehem, Pa., to create “a multi-million-dollar operation” for coffee roasting and extraction. The investment should create 61 jobs.

Kerry, based in Ireland, did not specify its investment in the plant but noted the state of Pennsylvania is investing $516,880 to support the operation, which includes plans for future expansion.

John Cahalane, president/CEO of Kerry North America, said the plant will help meet the rising demand for natural coffee ingredients across multiple markets. The former tenant, Martin Bauer Group, also was a beverage producer. In addition to the new jobs, Kerry is retaining 16 employees from the previous operation.
