Lettuce producer Little Leaf Farms has opened a new controlled environment agriculture (CEA) greenhouse at its McAdoo, Pa., complex, an expansion that makes it the largest CEA leafy greens facility in the world, according to a release from the company. The fourth greenhouse is opening about a year after the company had opened the third greenhouse at the site.

The new greenhouse is the fourth on the site, which spans 40 acres, and it will support expansion of product distribution into the Southeast, Midwest and Canada, the company noted. Little Leaf Farms began operation 10 years ago, and today, its packaged salads are available in more than 8,000 grocery stores. The fourth greenhouse in McAdoo will support consumer demand for the company’s Romaine Leaf lettuce product, which launched in July 2025.

Little Leaf also recently announced a new CEA campus in Manchester, Tenn., which is expected to be operational in Fall 2026.
