Canned Beverage Co-Man DrinkPAK to Open Manufacturing Plant in Philadelphia
DrinkPAK, a canned beverage co-manufacturer with facilities in California and Texas, will invest $195 million to open a new plant in Philadelphia, Pa. — its third U.S. facility. The project is expected to create 174 jobs over the next three years, according to a release sent to Food Processing from the state economic development group and Gov. Josh Shapiro.
The announcement noted that DrinkPAK will lease a 1.4-million-sq.-ft., build-to-suit facility on nearly 75 acres in the Bellwether District of Philadelphia, the site of the former Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery. DrinkPAK is reportedly the first anchor tenant for the 1,300-acre site.
DrinkPAK, which was founded in 2020, produces alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing full-service support for procurement, batching, processing, filling, packaging, warehousing and distribution. Nate Patena, DrinkPAK CEO, said the new location will continue to solidify the company’s position in canned beverage production in North America.
According to the company’s web site, the Fort Worth, Texas, facility was slated to open in September 2025, and the new Philadelphia capital project will be complete in early 2027.
