Swire Coca-Cola USA, which manufactures, distributes and sells Coca-Cola and other beverage brands across 13 states in the western U.S., will build a new, $475 million manufacturing facility in Colorado Springs, Colo., according to a release shared with Food Processing.

The capital project will create about 170 new jobs for the Draper, Utah-based company that employs 1,300 people in Colorado and more than 8,000 overall.

Swire will consolidate and modernize its production operations into the new, 620,000-sq.-ft. facility, the company noted — replacing its current, 90-year-old plant in Denver. The plant will be capable of producing more than 230 beverage options across 60-plus brands, from soft drinks to waters, teas to juice drinks and sports beverages.

Groundbreaking for the new plant is expected in 2026. The company will pursue LEED Gold certification for the facility as part of its sustainability commitment.
