V&V Supremo Foods, which produces authentic Mexican cheese, chorizo and cremas, has acquired 39 acres of land in Jefferson, Wis., where it plans to build a new processing plant to expand its capacity and meet growing demand for its products in the U.S.

A spokesperson for V&V Supremo told Food Processing in an email that Phase 1 of the project is expected to span 40,000-50,000 sq. ft., and that completion is expected within 24 to 30 months.

V&V chose Jefferson, which is between Madison and Milwaukee, for its central location and access to major transportation corridors that will allow it to reach its retail and foodservice partners across the nation. The company said in the email that the purchased property is part of Jefferson's Food and Beverage Innovation Campus and sits just north of the site where Kikkoman Foods is currently building a new facility (assumedly the $800 million plant for which it broke ground in June 2024).

V&V Supremo was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Chicago. Just last month, the company named former Hostess Brands chief growth officer Dan O’Leary to be its new CEO.
