Smucker Spends Another $27 Million on McCalla, Alabama, Plant

New equipment and modifications are added to the $1.1 billion Uncrustables facility.

J.M. Smucker Co. and its contractor, Dennis Group, have taken out building permits for an additional $27 million of work on the Uncrustables plant in McCalla, Ala.

Bham Now reported the expansion as it reviewed county building permits. It said a 4,100-sq.-ft. addition was approved for the plant to support production, including the installation of new equipment and minor modifications to accommodate the equipment.

Smucker opened the facility in November of 2024 to produce the popular Uncrustables product. The company reportedly has spent $1.1 billion on the project.
