Popping Boba Manufacturer Opens New Facility in Mount Vernon, Missouri
BobaVida brand’s parent company, Boh Bah Inc., has announced the grand opening of a new, 50,000-sq.-ft., FDA-registered production facility in Mount Vernon, Mo., according to a release from the company. The new facility is more than five times the size of the company’s previous location and signals continued investment into U.S. manufacturing, brand growth and rising demand for the brand’s popping boba used in beverage, dessert and specialty food applications.
BobaVida was launched in 2023, bringing a traditionally Asian-made product to the U.S. and developing American flavors while growing.
“The entire market was ripe for a change,” Scott Van Rixel, founder and CEO, explained in the release. “I saw how much my daughter and her friends loved boba, but as a parent, I also recognized the need for a higher-quality USA-made version — one elevated from traditional lower-quality ingredients and with a more Americanized palate in mind.”
Boh Bah Inc. looks to capitalize on demand while much of the boba category in the U.S. remains dependent upon overseas boba production. The company’s investment in Missouri will help customers dodge the challenges of tariffs and international logistics costs.
