Kellanova has entered into an agreement to sell its majority stake in Egyptian food company Bisco-Misr to Hayel Saeed Anam Group & Co. (HSA Group), according to news reports.
The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, and the report said HSA Group was committed to building on Bisco-Misr’s long history in the country. HSA Group is a multibillion-dollar conglomerate that has been producing biscuit brands in the Middle East and North Africa region for more than 80 years.
Bisco-Misr was founded in 1957 and manufactures brands including Bisco Tea, Nice, Maamoul, Marie, Bisco Wafers, Seasonal Kahk and others out of processing facilities in Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt. It is one of the largest biscuit companies in Egypt and top five in the Middle East and Africa, the news outlet noted.
