Lamb Weston Opens Second Potato Processing Facility in Kruiningen, The Netherlands

Nov. 12, 2024
Expansion of the company’s operations in Kruiningen adds a second plant, and nearly 430 million pounds of annual capacity, to Lamb Weston’s capabilities.

Eagle, Idaho-based frozen potato, sweet potato, appetizer and vegetable processor Lamb Weston has opened its newest processing plant in Kruiningen, The Netherlands, according to a release from the company. The new facility increases the company’s production capacity by 195 million kilos (nearly 430 million pounds) annually to support demand for frozen potato products.

The entire Lamb Weston Kruiningen complex employs approximately 650 people with the addition of the 120 employees hired to run this new plant. Lamb Weston announced the expansion more than five years ago — and the new facility is the second Lamb Weston plant dedicated to frozen potato products in Kruiningen.

Lamb Weston designed the plant to ensure efficient use of raw materials, optimization of water, and reuse of heat to reduce emissions. Process water from the plant is purified for reuse as well.
