Fresh Del Monte Produce Enters Joint Venture to Supply Avocados, Limes from Colombia
Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. has entered into a new joint venture with Managro Group, a Colombian agricultural company that exports limes and avocados — a move that includes a shared investment plan for expansion of an avocado and lime packinghouse in Colombia.
The packinghouse expansion would bolster Fresh Del Monte’s supply chain capabilities and give it a broader presence in limes and avocados in North America and Europe. The facility will serve those markets for the company, giving it a better opportunity to deliver the two products year-round. The partnership also enhances Fresh Del Monte’s vertical integration and expands its global footprint.
The company’s release cites data projecting the global lime market to grow from $48 billion in 2024 to $62 billion by 2034, and the global avocado market to expand from $19 billion to $34 billion in that same timeframe.
