Looking for More March Madness? Brackets on Food (and Dogs?) Have You Covered
The NCAA’s annual March Madness — the Men’s (and Women’s) Basketball Tournament — begins officially today, and some consider it to be another sports-related “holiday” similar to the National Football League’s Super Bowl (which also has significant food and beverage connections, of course).
Millions have filled out their tournament brackets, trying to predict who will win it all. And for those of you who aren’t tired of looking at brackets, here are a few fun ones that we found — hosted by food and beverage companies or featuring food and bev products exclusively.
Have fun, but make sure your bosses aren’t looking over your shoulder — get back to work!
Certified Angus Beef’s Beef Bracket — That links to an image of the bracket, but you’ll have to head to CAB’s Instagram to participate, it says (though it doesn’t appear to have started yet, at the time this was published).
The Kroger Co. — Kroger has taken a shortcut to the “Elite Ate” Snack Bracket (the final eight teams in basketball tournaments are referred to as the Elite 8), highlighting snacks available at its stores. It doesn’t appear to have a voting mechanism, but it gives some ideas for snacks and says consumers can see what snack comes out on top.
Royal Canin (Mars Inc.) — Royal Canin asks, “Who Said Brackets Are Just for Basketball?” Well, the pet nutrition brand has unveiled its Ultimate Breed Showdown, where consumers can participate for a chance to win a $5,000 donation in their pet’s name to a preselected charity. Voting opens March 24.
