Cadbury Rolls Out Super-Sized Crème Egg at UK Theme Park to Celebrate Easter Season
With the Easter holiday fast approaching, chocolatiers at Cadbury’s “Cadbury World” theme park in the UK, have created what they said is the world’s largest Cadbury Crème Egg (pictured to the right, but NOT pictured above…that top image is a closeup of a normal-sized Crème Egg!) and put it on display until the end of April.
The makers of the holiday Crème Eggs (along with other Easter-themed candies and chocolate products) said the enormous egg stands as tall as an emperor penguin. (And, for those who don’t have those birds walking around their offices or homes … first, why not? And second, that’s about 3-4 feet tall.) The custom-made Crème Egg weighs 45 kg (and you can look up that conversion yourself!).
Worth noting: Despite the cynicism that might creep into some viewers’ minds as a result of the sheer size of the confection, Cadbury World insists every part of the Crème Egg is legitimately the same chocolate and fondant treat consumers would find in the standard-sized product. The only thing that’s not “legit” is the wrapper — that is a painted-on veneer rather than a large piece of printed foil.
It took two-and-a-half days to create and will be on display until April 27. And no, Cadbury World’s chocolatiers told the media, no one will be allowed to eat any portion of the giant Crème Egg.
