Ryze Superfoods Discontinues Health Claims for Mushroom Coffee and Matcha
Ryze Superfoods said it’s discontinuing several health claims advertised for its Mushroom Coffee and Mushroom Matcha products after an investigation was opened by BBB National Programs’ National Advertising Division (NAD).
NAD inquired into Ryze Superfoods’ express claims that its Mushroom Coffee provides “all-day energy, sharper focus, healthier digestion, better immune support,” and “better sleep.” It also examined whether Ryze’s advertising implied that its Mushroom Matcha product provides the same appetite-suppressing benefits as GLP-1 agonists without the side effects.
“As a result, NAD did not review the claims on the merits and the voluntarily discontinued claims will be treated, for compliance purposes, as though NAD recommended they be discontinued,” BBB said.
BBB National Programs (bbbprograms.org), a non-profit organization, provides independent industry self-regulation. Its National Advertising Division provides independent self-regulation and dispute resolution services guiding the truthfulness of advertising across the U.S.
