Del Monte Foods has acquired Kitchen Basics, a line of stocks and broths, from McCormick & Co.

Founded in 1996, the Kitchen Basics brand comprises chicken, beef, turkey and vegetable broths and other products. It will join College Inn, Del Monte’s existing line of stocks and broths.

“Building on our regional College Inn brand, the acquisition of Kitchen Basics will provide synergies across our business to scale our broth and stock portfolio across North America," Del Monte CEO Greg Longstreet said in a statement.

The statement said that “no employees were involved in this transaction” but made no mention of manufacturing facilities or other assets. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Kitchen Basics was McCormick’s only consumer-facing line of stocks and broths; it also has Brand Aromatics, a line of broths and other “liquid, savory flavor systems” for industrial production.
