Sigma Alimentos Acquires Majority Stake in Hispanic Cream, Cheese Producer
Sigma Alimentos S.A. de C.V. will acquire a majority stake in Los Altos Foods, a U.S. processor of Hispanic cheese and cream. According to a release from Sigma, Los Altos Foods produces authentic Mexican cheese products positioned for the multicultural North American consumer market under the Los Altos brand. The company has been in operation for more than 24 years out of a processing plant near Los Angeles, where more than 260 employees work.
Los Altos generates approximately $100 million in annual revenue, the release states. Financial terms were not disclosed.
