Campbell Soup Co. Sells Emerald Nuts Business to Flagstone Foods
Private-label nuts and trail mixes processor Flagstone Foods has acquired the Emerald Nuts business from Campbell Soup Co., according to a release from the company. The addition is an initial step in the company’s accelerated growth plan under new CEO Harry Overly, who was hired in late 2022.
Flagstone, which itself was acquired by Atlas Holdings in 2019, operates processing plants in Robersonville, N.C., El Paso, Texas, and Dothan, Ala., with more than 800 employees across the country.
Emerald Nuts was acquired by Campbell in 2018 as part of the deal that brought Snyder’s-Lance Inc. into the company. According to a release from Campbell, the Emerald business generated net sales of $66 million in fiscal 2022 and $46 million for the nine months ended April 30, 2023. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
