Constellation Brands to Sell Funky Buddha Brewery Back to Co-founders

May 30, 2023
As Funky Buddha approaches its 10th anniversary, founding brothers will take the reins back from Constellation Brands and begin pushing product innovation.

Oakland Park, Fla.-based Funky Buddha Brewery will be reacquired by original owners Ryan and KC Sentz from Constellation Brands, which had purchased the brewery and its brands in 2017.

According to a release from Funky Buddha, the Sentzes and Constellation agreed that now is the ideal time for the original owners to reclaim control of the company and focus on beverage innovation, new consumer experiences and additional product lines. The release added that the beer portfolio will remain available for distribution and the addition of new products is expected — with innovative product ideas already in the pipeline.

Constellation Brands acquired the brands from the Sentzes in 2017, and Funky Buddha’s new ownership team called the partnership successful, and that it had expanded the brand's distribution.

The reacquisition of Funky Buddha Brewery by the Sentz brothers is targeted for June 2023, the release said.
