Garden City, N.Y.-based frozen pasta and foods processor Seviroli Foods has acquired Mama Rosie’s Co., a second-generation, family-owned peer in the frozen pasta product segment headquartered in the greater Boston, Mass., area.
Seviroli Foods, which is owned by Mill Point Capital LLC, is expected to use the enhanced scale, product portfolio and customer base via the transaction to accelerate its growth curve, according to a release distributed by the company. The CEO and owner of Mama Rosie’s, Nick Sardo, is expected to continue in a senior advisor role post-transaction.
Seviroli Foods manufactures items including ravioli, tortellini, stuffed shells, manicotti and short cut pastas for foodservice, club and retail channels, out of three processing plants in the New York City metropolitan area, with the capability for national distribution. It also imports more than 150 specialty food items from 19 countries under its Vertullo brand.
Mama Rosie’s supplies customers in the northeastern U.S. with specialty filled and non-filled frozen pasta products produced in facilities in Charlestown and Woburn, Mass. It was founded in 1976.
