Plant-Based Processor Alpha Foods Acquired by LiveKindly Collective

Aug. 1, 2023
California-based frozen foods processor Alpha is LiveKindly’s first U.S. brand acquisition in three years.

Plant-based frozen foods processor Alpha Foods has been acquired by LiveKindly Collective (LKC), the first U.S. food brand (and sixth overall) acquired by the plant-based food industry consolidator since its founding in 2020. Other brands owned by LKC include Fry’s, Oumph!, LikeMeat, No Meat and Dutch Weed Burger.

Alpha Foods leadership expects the acquisition to boost growth, particularly in product innovation in a segment often accused of stagnant, standardized development around patty and nugget formats. For LKC, Alpha gives it entry into ready-to-eat breakfast and burrito snacking categories, as well as a U.S. distribution boost for its portfolio.

Alpha products can be found in the frozen foods section of stores nationwide in the U.S. with a presence at 11,000 retail locations, according to the release. They are also distributed through various foodservice channels including the military, colleges, and universities.
