Oct. 12, 2023
Cibo Vita expects investment from private-equity firm to push growth while maintaining position at the forefront of innovation in the category.

Citation Capital, a Dallas, Texas-based private-equity firm, has acquired a majority interest in snack foods processor Cibo Vita, a release stated. Cibo Vita co-founders Emre Imamoglu and Ahmet Celik will continue to hold a significant ownership interest in the company, which was founded in 2009.

Totowa, N.J.-based Cibo Vita specializes in producing natural and functional snacks for supermarkets, big box chains and warehouse clubs nationwide out of three manufacturing facilities. The company owns the Nature’s Garden brand, which launched in 2011. The company’s product portfolio includes various combinations of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, trail mixes, coated nuts and confectionary.

It is expected that Citation’s ownership stake will help Cibo Vita advance its growth trajectory while staying at the forefront of innovation in the category, the release says. The transaction is expected to close later this year; terms of the deal were not disclosed.
