Transaction gives Wisconsin-based foodservice chicken processor Brakebush Brothers its fifth production facility in the U.S.

Westfield, Wis., chicken processor Brakebush Brothers Inc. has acquired the Lake Foods processing facility in Hartwell, Ga., which portions raw, sized, marinated and ready-to-cook chicken products, according to a release from Brakebush. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the deal was finalized on Dec. 31, 2023.

Gregory Huff, Brakebush president and CEO, said the addition of the facility will put the company “in great position to continue to grow our existing customer base and aggressively pursue new business.”

Brakebush Brothers processes a variety of value-added chicken products for foodservice, chain and industrial customers, and is a nearly 100-year-old family company. The Lake Foods facility brings the company’s total production facility count to five throughout the U.S.
