Syracuse, New York’s Hofmann Sausage Acquired by Miami Beef Co.
The Miami Beef Co. (Miami Beef) has announced the acquisition of Syracuse, N.Y.-based Hofmann Sausage Co., makers of the leading sausage and hot dog brand in the Central New York area, according to a release by Miami Beef.
Hofmann produces beef and pork franks, smoked sausage, bratwurst, beef jerky and condiments, and has been serving its customers since it was founded in 1879 in Syracuse. The announced acquisition is the second such news from Miami Beef in the last 11 months, as it publicized its acquisition of Brooklyn Burger and Devault Foods last March.
Robert Young, CEO of Miami Beef, noted Hofmann’s meaningful heritage and deep connection to its customers, community and employees, saying that Miami Beef plans to continue to serve those areas through investment in the Syracuse facilities. The addition of Hofmann to the Miami Beef family of brands adds hot dogs and sausages to the company’s overall portfolio, focused on hamburger offerings, giving the company an exciting opportunity to serve customers’ full grilling experiences.
“Our plan is to turbo-charge the growth of Hofmann’s footprint throughout the country and continue to look for complementary brands to acquire,” Young said.
Miami Beef has provided fresh and frozen meat products to retail and foodservice channels nationwide since 1972 and owns such brands as Miami Beef, Free Graze, Florida Raised, Sizzle King, Young Ridge, Brooklyn Burger, Devault Foods and Hofmann Sausage. Products are produced in South Florida and Central New York facilities.
