Custom Made Meals Buys Hearthside Food Solutions’ Jacksonville, Fla., Facility

April 4, 2024
The processing plant manufactures refrigerated kits, raw proteins, ready-to-cook and ready-to-heat meals, and gives Custom Made Meals a boost in those product segments.

The Jacksonville, Fla., ready-to-cook and ready-to-heat manufacturing assets of Hearthside Food Solutions have been acquired by Custom Made Meals LLC (CMM), a processor of fresh, oven-ready entrees, appetizers and sides.

Hearthside Jacksonville was built in 2005 and manufactures refrigerated kits, raw proteins, ready-to-cook and ready-to-heat meals for grocery chains and foodservice distributors across the eastern U.S. Through the expansion, CMM’s regional footprint will expand, and its distribution efficiency is expected to improve as well. It also adds key processing capabilities in wraps, sandwiches, value-added seafood and ready-to-heat categories.

CMM is headquartered in Denver, Colo., and owned by Stellex Capital Management. Hearthside Food Solutions is a contract manufacturer and producer of baked foods, snacks, nutrition bars, frozen, refrigerated and fresh sandwiches/entrees, based in Downers Grove, Ill. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
