St. Paul, Minn.-based Dessert Holdings has acquired Kenny’s Great Pies from Kaho Partners, a move that will complement Dessert Holdings’ existing platform of premium dessert brands serving retail and foodservice customers. Kenny’s will continue to operate under its current management team, led by Gary Muter, according to the release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Kenny’s brand joins Dessert Holdings’ five brands: Steven Charles, The Original Cakerie, Lawler’s Desserts, Atlanta Cheesecake Co. and Dianne’s Fine Desserts. Kenny’s was founded in 1989, and its signature product is reportedly its Key lime pie, which is made with 100% pure, freshly squeezed, authentic Key limes, the release noted.

Kenny’s sells millions of branded and private-label pies through multiple channels, producing its products in its Smyrna, Ga., processing facility, which features newly installed automated mixing and filling lines.

Dessert Holdings has been owned by Bain Capital since June 2021
