The Slice soda brand has been acquired by Suja Life, parent company of better-for-you beverage brands Suja Organic and Vive Organic. Slice will be reintroduced in 2025 with a fresh look and revamped formula featuring pared down, clean ingredients, according to a release.
Adding Slice to its portfolio builds on the momentum Suja Life began building in 2022 with its acquisition of Vive Organic, and it boosts the company’s dedication to beverages with low sugar and clean ingredients, it said.
Slice was first launched in the 1980s as a fruit-flavored soda by PepsiCo, and despite a cult following by some consumers, the brand was discontinued in the mid-2000s, replaced predominantly by the Sierra Mist brand in the PepsiCo portfolio (Sierra Mist, it’s worth noting, was replaced as the company’s lemon-lime soda brand by Starry about a year ago).
Suja Life said the improved ingredients will give it a new healthy soda option, while the taste profile will resemble the classic, nostalgia soda. The new Slice will be an all-natural, low-calorie soda that delivers gut health advantages with superior nutrition, function and taste, the company said.
