Frozen Baked Goods Processor Chalet Desserts Acquired by PE Firm
Frozen baked goods processor Chalet Desserts has been acquired by private-equity firm Encore Consumer Capital, according to a release announcing the deal. Chalet is based in Sacramento, Calif., and its frozen bakery desserts and baked goods inclusions are sold into in-store bakeries at supermarkets and convenience stores, and foodservice and ingredient markets.
Founder and CEO Dave Laukat and the existing management team at Chalet will remain on in partnership with Encore to drive the next chapter of growth for the company, the announcement stated.
With Encore’s support, Chalet expects to grow through add-on acquisitions, organic growth initiatives and investments in capacity. The company is actively seeking acquisition opportunities in the frozen baked goods space, the release noted.
