Reser’s Fine Foods Adds St. Clair Foods, Will Operate as Separate Division

May 31, 2024
Acquisition of St. Clair gives Reser’s new regional, channel and product opportunities, while supporting St. Clair’s growth path.

Reser’s Fine Foods Inc., manufacturer of fresh refrigerated deli salads, side dishes and prepared foods has acquired St. Clair Foods Inc., which produces refrigerated deli salads, frozen side dishes and frozen entrees, primarily for foodservice customers. Both companies are family-owned with long, successful histories in the refrigerated foods business, the announcement noted.

St. Clair will become an operating division within Reser’s Fine Foods, and Oscar H. Edmonds III, who founded St. Clair, will transition from president of St. Clair Foods to an advisory role. His children, Brian and Lauren, will remain on board as leaders within the St. Clair division.

The deal opens opportunities for Reser’s in new regions, channels and product lines. St. Clair is expected to get a boost along its current growth trajectory by the deal, the release noted.

St. Clair brings more than 350 employees and more than 175,000 square feet of production space to the company. Reser’s operates 14 facilities in the U.S. and Mexico, and it employs more than 4,500 workers.
