Rise Baking Adds Table Talk Pies to Its Portfolio

June 14, 2024
Minneapolis, Minn.-based bakery manufacturer makes second acquisition in seven months, following the purchase of two pie processing plants in December.

Rise Baking Co. has acquired Worcester, Mass.-based Table Talk Pies Inc., according to a release from Rise’s parent company Olympus Partners. Table Talk is a full-line pie producer, specializing in 4-inch snack pies and 8- to 10-inch dessert pies, the release noted.

This is the second acquisition for Rise in the last seven months, with the company having acquired two pie processing facilities in December 2023. With the acquisition of Table Talk, Rise Baking now owns 20 manufacturing facilities and employs approximately 3,700 people in the U.S. and Canada. Table Talk is the company’s second pie acquisition, said Brian Zellmer, CEO of Rise, and the company is “eager to grow our slice of the pie industry.”

Rise produces cookies, icings, cakes, pies, muffins, brownies, dessert bars, artisan breads and flatbreads in North America for retail bakeries, foodservice operators and distributors.
