Home Market Foods Will Invest $70 Million Into Recently Purchased South Windsor, Connecticut, Facility
Home Market Foods (HMF), makers of the Cooked Perfect brand of meatballs and Eisenberg frankfurters and sausages, has purchased a facility in South Windsor, Conn., into which it will invest more than $70 million to transform it into a state-of-the-art meat processing facility.
The former Carla’s Pasta plant will feature cutting-edge technology and equipment, HMF said in a release sent directly to Food Processing, and will implement energy-efficient systems and waste-reduction strategies. It is expected to open in June 2025, and by year-end 2027, the company estimates 210 jobs will be created. HMF has already begun recruiting various positions for the facility.
The expansion is in accordance with HMF’s strategy to add production capabilities and innovate to meet strong demand for its meal solutions products, the Norwood, Mass.-based company noted.
HMF produces meal solutions, specializing in meatballs, hot dogs and sausages, and convenience store roller-grill products — all distributed to more than 175 retailers and distributors in North America. The Eisenberg hot dog brand is sold in sports arenas, theaters, restaurants, schools and amusement parks across the country.
