CTH Invest SA, a Ferrero-related company, has agreed to acquire Nonni’s Bakery, a Wexford, Pa., manufacturer of artisanal biscotti cookies and baked goods, according to a release. Nonni’s had been owned by Vestar Capital Partners, which acquired the bakery in 2017.
Nonni’s specializes in indulgent chocolate and inclusions-enhanced biscotti and “Cantuccini-type” cookies, the release noted. The company’s portfolio includes Nonni’s Thinaddictives, Nonni’s Bites, La Dolce Vita and Nonni’s Snackers. Nonni’s was founded in 1988 and has four manufacturing facilities, employing about 350 employees.
Ferrero expects the acquisition to strengthen its North American presence and expand its place in the global sweet packaged foods industry. Closing on the transaction is expected in the coming months, the company said.
