QualiTech Acquires Ellison Bakery

Aug. 21, 2024
The ingredient supplier buys the maker of baked goods and inclusion ingredients; both owned by equity firms.

QualiTech, primarily an ingredient supplier, with the backing of its private equity owner has acquired Ellison Bakery, a Fort Wayne, Ind., manufacturer of cookies, snack bars, crunches, toppings and inclusion ingredients for retail, foodservice and private label markets. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1945, Ellison makes customized baked ingredient solutions serving the retail, industrial and foodservice channels. The company manufactures baked inclusions, crunches, bits, cookie components and bars that are used in a variety of applications including active nutrition, frozen novelty, ice cream, yogurt and beverage. It was owned by another investment firm, Tilia Holdings LLC.

“The acquisition of Ellison advances QualiTech’s plans to strategically expand the platform’s capabilities with synergistic products and ingredient solutions and drive future growth following MidOcean Partners’ investment in the company in 2023,” today’s announcement said.
