Campbell Soup Co. has completed the sale of its Pop Secret popcorn business to snack company Our Home, owners of such brands as Popchips, Food Should Taste Good and other snack brands. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Pop Secret generated net sales of approximately $120 million in fiscal 2024, the announcement from Campbell’s noted, and Chris Foley, executive vice president and president, Campbell’s Snacks, said the move was another step “to strategically focus our Snacks portfolio.”
For Our Home, the move scales the company’s existing platform and footprint across the U.S. Pop Secret expands the company into the microwave popcorn category, which Aaron Greenwald, founder and CEO of Our Home believes will strengthen its status in snacking.
This is the fourth major acquisition for Our Home in the calendar year. In January, the company announced the purchase of the R.W. Garcia and Good Health brands and two manufacturing plants from Utz Brands. A couple months later, Our Home purchased two additional snack plants from Utz, then acquired the Sonoma Creamery business in May.
Pop Secret brings nearly 40 years of history and innovation to the Our Home portfolio, the company said, with an emphasis on authentic, real butter flavors and making snacks healthy in conjunction with taste.
For perspective, in less than a year, Our Home will have doubled its brand roster (once the Pop Secret deal is finalized). The new popcorn brand joins Our Home’s family of brands including Food Should Taste Good, Popchips, Real Food From The Ground Up, You Need This, RW Garcia, Good Health, and Sonoma Creamery.
