Mount Franklin Foods Buys Stuffed Puffs Marshmallow Products

Stuffed Puffs created the category of marshmallows stuffed with chocolate and other ingredients.

Mount Franklin Foods, A Texas manufacturer of branded, contract and private label confectionary, nuts and foodservice products, acquired the assets of Stuffed Puffs LLC, a Bethlehem, Pa., maker of marshmallow products filled with milk chocolate and other ingredients. Price was not disclosed.

“Founded [in 2019] by Michael Tierney, who has been the driving force behind the brand's success, Stuffed Puffs also benefited from celebrity investors like Grammy-nominated artist Marshmello and his manager Moe Shalizi,” a news release said. “Their reach and collaboration were pivotal in connecting the brand with a wide audience and helping to drive the brand’s success.”

Tierney, who also was CEO, sounds like he’s staying on, saying, "With a shared vision for the future of Stuffed Puffs, our strategic alignment with Mount Franklin Foods, together with its scale and resources, will be a major unlock for us to accelerate our growth trajectory and innovation pipeline."

In addition to its contract manufacturing and private label business, Mount Franklin Foods owns such brands as Azar Nut, Sunrise Confections, Hospitality Mints and Element Food Solutions.
