Miracapo Pizza Co. LLC has been acquired by Brynwood Partners IX L.P. from CC Industries Inc., according to a release from Brynwood. The acquisition includes three Chicago-area manufacturing facilities owned by the frozen pizza co-manufacturer.
Miracapo makes frozen pizzas for convenience stores and branded customers serving the retail channel, the release noted. The Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based processor’s three processing plants cover 175,000 sq. ft. and employ some 385 workers.
For Greenwich, Conn.-based Brynwood, Miracapo adds to its current portfolio in the pizza space, which includes Great Kitchens Food Co., serving private label retail customers in the take-and-bake pizza segment.
Miracapo’s processing facilities run up Brynwood’s total network to 19 plants, and its food and beverage portfolio includes Harvest Hill Beverage Co., Carolina Beverage Group, Hometown Food Co., Great Kitchens Food Co. and West Madison Foods. Four of the six companies have corporate offices in Chicago and six of the processing facilities are Chicago-based, the company said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
