OSI Group LLC announced one of its subsidiaries has purchased custom kettle-cooked foods processor Park 100 Foods of Tipton, Ind., in a release distributed today. Park 100 was founded in 1976 as a portioned, breaded meats processing facility, and has since evolved to include kettle-formulated frozen soups, sauces, chili, side dishes, gravies and macaroni & cheese.
Park 100 allows OSI to provide added sauce-processing capabilities and expertise — and gives it an entry point into soup and mac & cheese categories. Park 100 brings to the deal more than 600 employees and processing facilities in Tipton, Morristown and Kokomo, Ind., and Fort Worth, Texas — making this the largest acquisition for OSI to date, according to the release. Most recently, OSI acquired a pet-food ingredient supplier in the Netherlands in 2023. In the U.S., OSI last purchased Wayne Farms’ poultry production complex in Laurel, Miss., in 2021.
OSI CEO and president Dave McDonald said the company’s similar cultures and approaches to business were a positive, and that “The food business is all about relationships, and Park 100 has done an excellent job providing unparalleled customer service.”
Rick Mager, current Park 100 co-president, will become managing director of Park 100 Foods and will join the OSI North America Leadership Team. He will report to Kevin Scott, OSI senior executive vice president and leader of the OSI North America business. Staying on as consultants to assist in the transition and integration are Park 100 CEO/founder Jim Washburn, founder Gary Meade and co-president David Alves.
