Primo Water / BlueTriton Merger Completed; Primo Brands Emerges

Nov. 11, 2024
Merger of water, hydration-focused companies was first announced in June 2024.

The merger of Primo Water Corp. and an affiliate of BlueTriton Brands Inc. to form the new Primo Brands has been completed, according to a release from the new company. This merger was first announced in June 2024. The company will maintain dual headquarters in Tampa, Fla., and Stamford, Conn., with Robbert Rietbroek serving as chief executive officer, David Hass as chief financial officer and Robert Austin as chief operating officer.

The new North American, branded beverage company will focus on delivering healthy hydration to consumers across its product line and various formats, channels, price points and occasions across the U.S. and Canada. Primo Brands’ portfolio includes the Poland Spring, Pure Life, Saratoga, Mountain Valley, Arrowhead, Deer Park, Ice Mountain and Ozarka brands, among numerous others. The company also sells beverages through direct-to-consumer water dispensers and water exchanges and refills.

The company employs more than 11,000 people across its two headquarters, more than 50 production facilities and 200-plus depots.

“I believe Primo Brands is positioned to be a leader in the healthy hydration beverage category, thanks to the strength of its iconic, sustainably sourced brands, its robust operations and extensive North American network, and its responsible operation of numerous springs across the country,” said Dean Metropoulos, non-executive chairman of the board of directors of Primo Brands. “We have a clear strategy to accelerate growth driven by the strong demand for branded beverages and healthy hydration that continues to expand across all high-growth channels, including retail, clubs, restaurants, hospitality, convenience stores, hospitals, schools, offices and more. Importantly, we also continue to strengthen Primo Brands’ commitment to sustainability, including through our increasingly environmentally friendly delivery fleet, circular packaging efforts and water stewardship.”
