Campbell Soup Co. Agrees to Sell Noosa to Lakeview Farms
After months of shopping the Noosa brand around, Campbell Soup Co. has found a buyer. Lakeview Farms, an Ohio-based producer of refrigerated desserts, dips, salsa, hummus and specialty products, has entered into an agreement to acquire Noosa from Campbell’s, according to a release shared with Food Processing. Noosa produces whole-milk, Australian-style yogurt, and came over to Campbell’s in the Sovos Brands acquisition in 2023.
Campbell’s CEO Mark Clouse noted in the company’s third-quarter earnings call in June 2024 that the Noosa business had been “one of the more positive surprises in the Sovos Brands acquisition,” but simply wasn’t a fit in the company’s portfolio.
The deal with Lakeview includes all Noosa trademarks and the brand’s manufacturing facility in Bellvue, Colo., as well as 240 current Noosa employees who are expected to transition to Lakeview Farms employment with the business.
The acquisition adds significant size and scale to Lakeview’s refrigerated portfolio and expands its presence into the yogurt category, the company noted in its press release. Lakeview’s brands include Fresh Cravings, La Mexicana, Señor Rico and Salads of the Sea. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
