Wales’ Ty Nant Buys Two Welsh Water Brands From the New Primo Brands

Dec. 2, 2024
Primo, which merged with the successor to Nestle Waters, sold Fonthill Water and Decantae Mineral Water.

Ty Nant, “a symbol of Welsh luxury and premium hydration,” has acquired two Welsh-origin water brands from U.S.-based Primo Water Corp.: Fonthill Water and Decantae Mineral Water. Price was not disclosed.

Decantae Mineral Water, "sourced from the foothills of Snowdonia, a mountainous region and national park in North Wales, has been a leader in the premium bottled water sector in the UK and Europe,” according to the acquiring company.

Fonthill Spring Water, “with its origins in the historic Fonthill Bishop Estate in Wiltshire owned by Lord Margadale,” introduces Ty Nant to the water cooler market.

The two brands come on the heels of Ty Nant acquiring the premium Welsh water and mixer brand Llanllyr Source in late 2023.

Primo Brands is the new name (announced in November) for this summer’s merger of Primo Water Corp. with BlueTriton Brands, the latter consisting of the former North American water brands of Nestle.
