Post Holdings Acquires Potato Products of Idaho

Dec. 18, 2024
Just a day after rumors swirled of Post’s interest in acquiring Lamb Weston Holdings, the company agrees to purchase a different processor of refrigerated and frozen potato products.

Post Holdings Inc. announced its agreement to purchase a potato processor — but not Lamb Weston Holdings, as rumored just a day prior. No, Post has agreed to acquire Potato Products of Idaho LLC (PPI), a manufacturer of refrigerated and frozen potato products.

PPI operates out of a processing facility in Rigby, Idaho, and is the processing arm of the Mickelsen family of businesses, according to the company’s web site. It makes mashed potatoes, whole baked potatoes, baby potatoes and sweet potatoes for foodservice customers.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of calendar year 2025, Post’s announcement noted. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
