Dutch Gold Honey, Related Businesses Acquired by Private-Equity Firm
Dutch Gold Honey and its related businesses have been acquired by an affiliate of New Water Capital Partners II LP, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based private-equity investment firm, according to a release from New Water.
Dutch Gold Honey produces honey and maple syrup products sold in retail, foodservice and institutional channels, as well as ingredients in salad dressings, cereals, yogurt and sauces. The company, which was founded in 1946, is known for inventing the iconic squeezable plastic honey bear container, the release noted.
The acquisition includes the Dutch Gold Honey business as well as McLure’s Honey & Maple Products, Gamber Container Co., The Bacon Jug Co. and DGH Logistics. Gamber Container and DGH were originally part of Dutch Gold Honey, while McLure’s and The Bacon Jug were acquired by Dutch Gold Honey in 1997.
Dutch Gold Honey expects the partnership will provide an opportunity to bring its products to even more consumers across the country — and it joins Klostermann Baking Co., Custom Made Meals, The Perfect Bite Co. and Pegasus Foods Inc. among New Water’s recent food-related acquisitions.
