YoGusto Drinkable Yogurt Acquired by Marquez Brothers International
The owner of the YoGusto brand of drinkable yogurt, Hato Potero Farms, has been acquired by Marquez Brothers International Inc. (MBI), a family-owned company that produces and distributes branded Hispanic foods.
YoGusto products have been in the market for more than 25 years, produced in Clewiston, Fla., and distributed in the southeastern U.S. out of Miami, Fla. The product line includes lactose-free milk, chocolate milk, sour cream and cheeses. Gustavo Marquez Jr., CEO of MBI, said the brand compliments the company’s flagship El Mexicano brand, and it will benefit both sides, expanding MBI’s production and distribution on the East Coast while offering YoGusto the opportunity for a nationwide audience.
MBI operates in the U.S. and Mexico, with seven manufacturing facilities and more than 1,200 employees. It’s broad portfolio includes packaged cheese, creams, yogurts, meats, desserts, rice, beans, jalapeños, cookies, sauces, condiments, spices, pastas and beverages, among other food products. Brands owned by the company, other than the two mentioned above, include Rancho Grande, San Juan, Autlan, Casero, La Toña, Saborcool and Marquez Family.
