Maple Donuts Inc., a Pennsylvania-based frozen bakery products manufacturer, has been acquired by private-equity firm Swander Pace Capital, according to a release, with Partners Capital and Constitution Capital Partners as lead co-investors in the deal.

Maple Donuts, which was founded in 1946, produces private-label donuts for customers across retail and foodservice channels nationwide, including ready-to-sell and ready-to-finish donuts. Under Swander Pace’s stewardship, Maple Donuts is expected to further expand product offerings, enhance production and extend market capabilities.

Damian and Nathaniel Burnside, co-presidents at Maple Donuts, said, “We have dedicated our lives to building Maple Donuts into a trusted partner for our customers and a great place to work for our employees. As we transition the business, we are confident that Maple Donuts is in excellent hands for the next chapter with Swander Pace Capital.”

Maple Donuts is the eighth platform and 15th investment in bakery for Swander Pace, with the firm having completed deals with Boulangerie St. Méthode, Café Valley, Bäckerhaus Veit, Voortman Cookies, Pineridge Bakery, Ideal Snacks and Nonni’s Biscotti. Most recently, Café Valley, another Swander Pace Capital bakery platform manufacturing high-quality baked goods for the in-store bakery and foodservice channels, acquired the assets of Freed’s Bakery, a manufacturer of iced mini cupcakes for national and regional retailers.
