Dessert Holdings Adds Willamette Valley Pie Co. to Its Portfolio
St. Paul, Minn.-based Dessert Holdings has acquired Willamette Valley Pie Co., adding to its portfolio of premium desserts, according to a release shared with Food Processing. Willamette will continue to operate under its current management team, led by president Austin Kelly, the release noted. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Willamette was established in 2001 in Oregon’s Willamette Valley region, and the Silverton, Ore., company has grown to be known for its fruit pies, cobblers and desserts, as it works closely with independent, artisanal growers to source produce at peak flavor times. Its Dutch Caramel Apple Pie, Cherry Crunch Pie, Oregon Berry Pie, Peach Cobblers and handheld pies have been recognized repeatedly by national retailers.
Kelly said in the release that joining Dessert Holdings was an “exciting new chapter,” and that the two organizations share the same passion and values. Willamette Valley Pie Co. joins Steven Charles, The Original Cakerie, Lawler’s Desserts, Atlanta Cheesecake Co., Dianne’s Fine Desserts, and Kenny’s Great Pies in the Dessert Holdings stable of brands. Kenny’s Great Pies was acquired just more than a year ago by the company.
